109 Year Old Man Knits Tiny Sweaters To Save The Lives Of Penguins

Alfred “Alfie” Date is the oldest man in Australia, now 109 years old. When he’s not (I’m assuming)about town raising hell, he’s at home knitting tiny sweaters for New Zealand’s Phillip Island’s Penguin Foundation. Why? It’s not just for the cuteness factor.

The tiny penguin sweaters help the birds who were severely injured in a massive oil spill to prevent further injury to themselves. Without the sweaters, they will obsessively try to remove the sludge from themselves, thus swallowing the toxic oil sludge.

Before you get too excited, the foundation doesn’t need any more little penguin sweaters.

“Please know we have plenty of jumpers for the penguins and do not need any more. We greatlyappreciate everyone’s efforts, including gorgeous Alfie,” the foundation announced on theirFacebook.

This Stray Dog Joined a Racing Team and Crossed the Finish Line with Them

It all started with a meatball. Arthur, a stray dog from Ecuador, caught sight of the adventure racing Team Peak Performance during their race through the Ecuadorian jungle at the Adventure Racing World Championships. After receiving a meatball, he never left them again.

Arthur followed the team through deep mud, in kayaks through rivers, and all the way across the finish line in the world championship. He ate, he slept, and he fought like a regular team member. A team that started as four, was suddenly now five.

The Adventure (AR) World Series is a gruelling 430-mile (692 km) endurance race through the Amazonian rain forest. Athletes must hike, kayak and bike their way to the finish over a span of six non stop days. The team first encountered Arthur on a muddy trek during the second last stage.

According to the Team Peak Performance blog:

They tried to send him off a few times but he always showed up beside the teamagain as they made their way through the trekking. In the beginning it went well, but when it became muddy he was having problem and the team had to help Arthur through some of the deepest mud.

Arthur followed the team all the way to TA9 and waited with the team. But then he suddenly got very worried and stressed as he realized the team would get out on the water. The organization gave the advice not to bring dog Arthur out on the last leg – a dog in the kayak didn’t seem like a great idea – and the team was going to follow this advice.

Mike, Simon, Staffan and Karen put their kayaks down in the water and set off, but Arthur refused to be left and started swimming. This was too heartbreaking for the team, and Mikael helped Arthur up in the kayak. This led to standing ovations from everyone on the shore, seeing the five (!) team mates set off. And yes, Dog Arthur was with the team all the way across the finish line. He took a few swims along the way of the paddling, but there was no doubt about him returning to the team.

After the race, the real battle began for the team to bring Arthur to Sweden. Numerous veterinary visits, documents signed and hours upon hours of work from the team finally paid off. The 20th of November Arthur arrived on Swedish soil – and has been welcomed to his new country by thousands and thousands of fans from all over the world.

Arthur is just one out of thousands of stray dogs, and the Arthur Foundation was established to help all other “Arthurs” out there.

Cop Saves a Woman’s Life After Choosing to Understand a Dog Instead of Shooting It

dog-and-cop-save-womans-life
Germantown, WI — An incredible story from Friday morning starts out with a black lab named John Boy, approaching a police officer.
Germantown police officer, Jeff Gonzalez deserves credit for not only refusing to do what so many other cops do when dogs approach them, but actually getting out in the freezing weather to see why this dog was loose.
“He stood there and barked a little bit, then I rolled down my window and called to him. Then he wagged his tail and got more friendly until I got out of my car. And then he ran a little bit,” said Gonzalez.
John Boy was seemingly trying to get the officer’s attention in an effort to help his owner.
“Yeah, he sure did. He pointed me in the right direction,” said Gonzalez.
John Boy led the officer up the street to a house where his owner, Krystal, was unresponsive. Krystal, who suffers from a heart condition, was slumped over in a chair outside her front door, still in her pajamas. It was dangerously cold out.
“To be honest with you, I thought she was dead. And when I went up, she was very cold to the touch; her lips were blue. But I was able to determine she was breathing and had a pulse. I called for assistance, and my partner was close. So together we got her in the house,” said Gonzalez.
“Basically what he told me was, he said that they thought that she was dead. So it’s hard,” said Tianne Wendt, Krystal’s daughter about the initial call from officer Gonzalez.

Thanks to this miraculously loyal dog and a police officer who defied the odds, Krystal is now in stable condition in a local hospital and John Boy didn’t freeze to death. This unlikely duo has transformed potential tears of sadness into tears of joy.
As if that wasn’t amazing enough, the family told Fox 8 News that they adopted John Boy. He was returned three times by three different families prior to ending up in the home of the owner whose life he would eventually save.

The Giants Found in Romania and The Cover-Up

Everyone has heard of the giant characters of legend, sometimes called cyclops or ogres. Giants were generally presented as creatures so big that the earth trembled when they walked.

It seems however that the giants are not just fairy tales, considering the fact that their remains have been found all over the world. The mystery of their civilization remains to this day and there is even a sort of secrecy in this regard, a convention to sweep any evidence of their existence under the rug.

In the 1940’s, archaeologists were overseeing a dig at Argedava in Romania, searching for priceless artifacts within the ruins of what was once the greatest citadel of the Dacian leader Burebista. The locals did most of the digging and they were glad to be making a little extra during those times of hardship.

Among them was Ionita Florea, now an old man well in his eighties. He was the one who dug up an enormous skull, two or three times the size of a regular one. When he notified the archaeologists, the workers were quickly dismissed and the researchers resumed the digging themselves. Their findings were loaded onto trucks and shipped away with the utmost secrecy. By the end of the excavation, they had collected around 80 skeletons, most of them complete. They had also recovered giant ceramic pots filled with grains.

To this day, nobody knows where the skeletons are.

This is not an isolated incident. In more recent years, villagers in Scaieni uncovered an ancient giants’ graveyard while planting an apple orchard. Once again, it was the skulls’ giant sizes that puzzled everyone. Alongside the complete skeletons, the villagers also found pottery fragments, jewelry and strange metal statues about 3 feet tall. A team of archaeologists came, dug everything up and vanished. No public statement was made and the locals refuse to discuss what happened after they announced their finding.

Were they strong-armed into silence? Is this event part of a greater conspiracy?

There are plenty legends about giants in the area. According to folklore, giants once inhabited the mountains and forests around Scaieni. In fact, huge thrones were found sculpted in the mountainside, in an area inaccessible to regular human beings. Legends tell that there are two gigantic underground vaults beneath the mountains, holding the giants’ ancient treasures. Could these vaults be real? If found, what stories would they tell?

In 2009, a local news channel started an investigation about the giants and their secret tunnels beneath the Bucegi mountains. Just as their report went on air, they received a live phone call from a man who refused to identify himself. The journalists were threatened to stop their ongoing investigation or else. As the mysterious man put it, they were “playing a dangerous game.”

“Stop talking about the Bucegi [mountains]. Information like that must not be made public and there are certain structures that deal with cases such as this. You do not wish to know us, you don’t want to interview us. That’s all I want to say.” He then hung up and the broadcast was interrupted. Was this an orchestrated hoax or a live case of a threatening secret cover-up? Only the journalists know and they refuse to discus the subject.

In an intriguing twist, the airspace above the Bucegi Plateau is a restricted no-fly zone.

Incidents like these happen all around the world. There is a distinct lack of physical evidence whenever people report findings of giant skeletons. Authorities arrive first, leaving behind hastily covered excavations, no artifacts and muted locals. One might think something really strange is going on.

This Homeless Child Was Sleeping On the Ground. What Happened Next Broke My Heart

75
Homeless people are expected to die 30 years before the average person; research has found. But, if you passed by a homeless child in the street begging for help could you honestly say you would pass them up without even a nod?
Homelessness is one of the most widespread epidemics in the world. Every day you probably pass a homeless person and silently judge or just completely ignore them not even acknowledging their presence. Am I right? Many people, adults and children live in hardship every day, living on the street starving and cold. One family decided to do a social experiment, to see how people would treat a freezing homeless child on the streets. He was ignored, and finally someone did the unthinkable!

New Study Finds Organic Cow’s Milk Is no Better Than Regular Milk

Most all of us can agree that the dairy aisle at the supermarket is one of the most confusing areas of the store when it comes to choice, price and health. If you’re a dairy-free eater, you probably skim right past the cow’s milk options and head for plant-based options instead, like almond, coconut, or cashew milk, and maybe you enjoy soy yogurt and vegan cheeses too. But if you’re a milk drinker, and are certain that organic milk is a better option than conventional, then you might want to take a step back and listen up to this news: Organic milk really is no better for you than conventional, according to science anyway.

The Real Deal With Organic Cow’s Milk

JuliaRubinic/Flickr

Researchers have conducted over 200 studies to test the nutritional components in non-dairy milk and dairy-based milks, to find that while some nutrients may improve in organic milk, other important nutrients did not. What they found was that overall, whatever a cow is fed (organic or not) determines how healthy its milk is. In order for dairy milk to be labeled organic, the cows must not receive any antibiotics, growth hormones, and may only be given organic vitamins and mineral supplements if needed. And though they eat off pasture fields, many non-organic cows may also eat off pasture fields, regardless that they don’t carry the organic label.

Every cow’s diet is different, depending on the feed that is given to them, the way the cows are cared for, their specific diets, and if they receive additional supplementation or not. None of these are things you’ll be able to tell by picking up a jug of cow’s milk that’s labeled organic. And sure, while the package may say “no antibiotics or growth hormones” or even state that the milk comes from pasture-raised cows, what it doesn’t tell you is how cows are treated to produce that milk, if you’re getting the first milking from the cow or one of the many milkings a cows will give throughout their life, and what those cows endured in order to produce that milk.

What to Choose Instead of Cow’s Milk

And what we all need to remember is that just because a cow’s milk is labeled organic, does not mean that it’s any kinder than regular milk. It’s also not the only source of calcium, protein, andVitamin D we have available to us. Researchers say that one reason cow’s milk is seen as a healthy food, is due to its high levels of omega 3 fats in the milk, which we know, is much easier to get in smaller, more economical and healthier ways, such as in foods like chia, flax, hemp, and walnuts. Even pumpkin seeds, butternut squash, and acai berry fruit have omega 3 fats. These foods also provide variable levels of protein, calcium, and thanks to foods such as miso, coconut kefir, coconut yogurt, and tempeh, we also have plant-based options to get our probiotics in place of dairy yogurt and kefir.

The more we support plant-based options with our dollars that profit farmers who grow these options, and quit buying milk that’s produced in a cruel manner (organic or not), the more the demand for dairy will go down.
So please, walk past that jug of organic milk that shouts at you that it’s the healthier option. How bout picking up one of those unsweetened cartons of almond, organic soy, cashew, hemp, rice, or coconut milk instead?

She Told The Chimp She Had Lost Her Baby. The Chimps Response is Heartwarming

After reading this story you will understand how motherhood and loss are universal. Washoe, an exceptionally smart chimpanzee who knew sign language, was not happy with her caretaker Kat, who hadn’t visited for some time. However, when Kat told her that Washoe had recently lost herbaby, Washoe indicated signs for grief. She even made signs for crying, even though chimpanzees are not able to cry.

What Washoe did next was unexpected. After losing two children of her own, she was given a ten month old chimp named Loulis to take care of. Washoe offered Loulis to Kat.

Of course, Kat could not accept the ‘gift’ and made sure that Washoe would adopt and take care of Loulis again. One wonders if this is how chimpanzees think in the wild. One wonders if chimpanzees trade babies with each other all the time. Perhaps adoption is a universal trait as well.

An Inspiring Vision Of The Future You Simply Must See

What you are about to see is an absolutely magnificent rendition of a piece by Carl Sagan – synthesized together with amazing visuals of human kinds exploration into our very solar system.

We are amazing creatures, and with willpower and inspiration, we can do anything.

For all its material advantages, the sedentary life has left us edgy, unfulfilled. Even after 400generations in villages and cities, we haven’t forgotten. The open road still softly calls, like a nearly forgotten song of childhood. We invest far-off places with a certain romance. This appeal, I suspect, has been meticulously crafted by natural selection as an essential element in our survival. Long summers, mild winters, rich harvests, plentiful game—none of them lasts forever. It is beyond our powers to predict the future. Catastrophic events have a way of sneaking up on us, of catching us unaware. Your own life, or your band’s, or even your species’ might be owed to a restless few—drawn, by a craving they can hardly articulate or understand, to undiscovered lands and new worlds.

Herman Melville, in Moby Dick, spoke for wanderers in all epochs and meridians: “I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas…”

Maybe it’s a little early. Maybe the time is not quite yet. But those other worlds— promising untold opportunities—beckon.

Silently, they orbit the Sun, waiting.

DARPA DEVELOPING MATRIX-LIKE BRAIN IMPLANT POWERED FROM THE SPINE

The secretive US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is developing a device that will plug directly into the brain and transmit images, bypassing the optical system altogether, according to reports.

Under the guise of developing a “cortical modem”, to enable blind people to see, DARPA researchers say that the device may also eventually replace all virtual and augmented realitytechnology.

Projects such as Google Glass and the Oculus Rift may be superceded by DARPA’s program which aims to create high-definition images directly within the human brain, according to researchers.

Much like in the action film, the Matrix, the device would be powered by a spinal implant.

Plans for the project were revealed at the Biology Is Technology conference in Silicon Valley last week, with boffins unveiling short term plans to create a small device that will deliver images to the brain without the need for wearing glasses or a helmet.

Reports noted that DARPA was described onstage at the gathering as a “friendly, but somewhat crazy, rich uncle”.

Further information was provided within the pages of transhumanist magazine Humanity Plus.

“The short term goal of the project is the development of a device about the size of two stacked nickels with a cost of goods on the order of $10 which would enable a simple visual display via a direct interface to the visual cortex with the visual fidelity of something like an early LED digital clock,” the publication reported.

The project is being overseen by DARPA’s Biological Technologies Office, which was founded a year ago with the brief of devising new technologies at the intersection of biology and physical science.

The office has been focusing on transhumanist projects geared towards improving the performance of soldiers on the battlefield’ performance, developing biological systems for national security purposes, and, it claims, the future well-being of humanity.

Other dystopian sounding projects being worked on include insect cyborgs, exoskeletons and life-sized robot elephants, according to the H+ report.

So far testing on the cortical modem has been limited to animals, primarily fish.

As Infowars has previously noted, DARPA has been working on variations of this project for years, decades in fact. And given that the Pentagon war machine is spear-heading it, with $70m of funding, one must seriously question why the DoD suddenly gives a damn about the well-being of humanity, including blind people and everyday Americans with brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s.

Last year, reports emerged of DARPA developing brain chips that will implant or remove specific memories from a subject, a prospect some may deem chilling given DARPA’s previous advocacy of “authentication microchips” and electronic tattoos that can read a person’s mind.

10 Things We Need To Stop Doing To Live Happier Lives

If you are on the path to being a more positive person, you’ve undoubtedly noticed that there area lot of things out there that keep us in a negative mentality! Unfortunately, in today’s society, being positive isn’t highly promoted. Therefore, many of us have become socially conditioned into negativity, often without even realizing it.

There are many things to give up to be more positive, but here are a list of 10 to get started with. It may take us a while to completely rid ourselves of these negative behaviors, but doing so is well worth our efforts!

1) Blaming others

Today, it is very common for people not to take responsibility for their own circumstances and instead blame other people for their problems.

In truth, everything that is going on in our realities is of our own creation, so at the end of the day we really have no one to blame but ourselves. When faced with a challenge, taking ownership of it will empower and uplift you. As long as you keep blaming the world around you, you will remain a slave to circumstance.

2) Comparing ourselves to others

We are all unique creatures, and without our differences this would indeed be a very boring world to live in.

To be a more positive person, drop the need to compare yourself with other people. Your talents are unique to you, and by attempting to measure up with someone else, you will overlook what makes you great.

Let your uniqueness shine, and allow yourself to appreciate the greatness in others withoutfeeling like you need to measure up to it.

3) Listening to angry, sad or hostile music most of the time

Music is a fantastic vehicle for emotion. If you are trying to become more positively minded, be careful of the music that you typically select.

Choose high vibrational music most of the time to keep you uplifted and motivated.

4) Trying to impress each other

Many times we look for outside validation of our greatness. We allow how popular we are or how many “likes” we get on social media to define our self-worth.

Realize that you are great no matter what anyone thinks. You have a lot to offer the world, and whether or not other people recognize it, we need you here doing what you do best. To live a happier life, only worry about impressing yourself!

5) Playing hard to get

Many of us play coy with our emotions. We don’t give love, hugs and kindness freely because we don’t want to be perceived as being too clingy or needy.

This withholding of love creates a society where we are all a little afraid to connect with each other because we’re too busy playing it cool. Realize that everyone appreciates a compliment, a kind word or appreciation.

Give your love freely to others, and you will receive more in return.

6) Being confrontational

Confrontation has been put on a pedestal these days. We love reality shows and talk shows where people fight and get in each other’s faces.

Positive people, however, try to find common ground with all people. They don’t get caught up in the hype. When faced with opposition in another they look for a way to love and accept.

The people who are the most confrontational are usually the ones who need the most love, so to be more positive try to find empathy for those who are struggling to be kind.

7) Needing to be right

This item goes hand in hand with the last one. Often times, we feel the need to defend our perspectives. When we receive any kind of criticism we feel the need to explain our position and why it is the right one.

Becoming more positive requires that you let go of the need to be right. Trust that your perspective, while it might be the right perspective for you, may not be the right perspective for someone else.

It is impossible for us to step into another person’s shoes and see an issue from where they stand because there are too many differences (physical, mental, emotional, environmental, etc) that stand between us. At the end of the day, it’s a good thing that there are so many opinions because it means that there are more options for all of us to choose from. Again, if we all agreed on everything our world would be boring and stale.

8) Exposing ourselves to negative television programming

Many of us sit in front of a screen for many hours every day. A lot of the programming that is on today focuses on drama, crime, disaster and competition.

Recognize the messages of the programming you choose to subject yourself to. It is easier to be a positive person when you choose not to watch programming that encourages negativity.

9) Racing through life

We often forget to stop and smell the roses. We feed into this idea that we need to be constantly busy to be productive and respectable people.

However, the best times in life occur when we allow ourselves to get lost in the moment. If you feel pulled to admire the night sky, give your children a long hug or take a day off from work, do it!

To be more positive we must enjoy the opportunities around us and stop racing past all of the good stuff.

10) Greediness

Sadly, we currently live in a world that promotes separation. Many of us believe that what’s ours is ours, and that we need to protect our assets from others. Greediness is a manifestation of this concept.

To be a more positive person, realize that we are all in this together. If everyone gave just a little bit more, what a beautiful world this would be! So pick up that cup of coffee for a friend, or buy your mom a gift just because.

You can’t take your possessions with you when you die, so try to share them a little more with the world while you are here.

There are many things that we can do to become more positive people, so this is just a starting place. Many of these behaviors have been engrained in us for a very long time, so some of them may be a little difficult to erase. However, as we start taking steps down the path of positivity, the universe will support us and help us in our transformations.

At the end of the day, while dropping these behaviors clearly benefits other people, realize that it also benefits you! Life becomes a lot easier and happier when we stop allowing negativity to permeate our lives. Find your inner peace and life will become more enjoyable and fulfilling.

8 TIPS FOR STORING AND PRESERVING FOOD WITHOUT ELECTRICITY

Recently, our freezer stopped working. (Turns out we needed to defrost it). We were lucky that it wasn’t a huge problem, however, it did get me thinking about alternatives.

Is there a way we can ditch the freezer for something more sustainable (Or even better, regenerative? Why sustain the status quo when we could perhaps make it better than we found it?)

The first thing that sticks out at me is the fact that we live in Wisconsin. If we really want some refrigeration, we just have to go outside. Unfortunately, that option only works for part of the year, what can we do when it’s not 30 below zero?

Well, lucky for us we have plenty of other food preservation methods at our disposal, some of them which we already use.

#1) Chickens (and other poultry) For those meat eaters out there who have a little bit of land, raise chickens! Unlike cows, pigs and other large animals, if you decide to make a chicken into a meal, you don’t have to worry about preserving the excess, its small size makes it easy to work with.

While the chicken is waiting to become dinner it can also serve many other valuable functions like providing eggs, feathers, manure for your garden, heat for your greenhouse, it can reduce pests, and the habitual scratching in the dirt chickens do works great to prepare the soil for planting your garden.

(Better yet, let the little cluckers live, they’ll do lots of great stuff for you in return and they’re kind of hilarious.) Check out this link for more tips on Chick Powered Permaculture

#2)Fish…they’re like water chickens. They can perform many similar functions while they wait to make it to your dinner plate. Consider starting an aquaponics garden and the fish will help provide food for your plants and vice versa. You’ll have a sweet little ecosystem in no time, and none of it will need to be refrigerated.

However, you will probably have to use some electricity to aerate the water, fish need oxygen too; or you could always raise bettas…but that’s not much of a meal.

#3)Sand Storage. Sand has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years to help preserve fruits and vegetables. I found an awesome modern twist on traditional methods of sand preservation here.

#4) Root Cellar. Another oldie but a goodie is the root cellar. Root cellars have also been combined with sand (above) for use in preserving food. We have an insulated room in our basement which we use as a root cellar.

#5) Canning Food. Everybody’s grandma has done it. There are two methods for canning food, pressure or a hot water bath, just remember that if you are using a hot water bath, you will want to stick with foods with a high acidity, such as tomatoes or pickles. Other foods might run the risk of spoiling and should utilize a pressure canner instead.

Learn more about Canning your food here!

#6)Nestled Pot Fridge. By nestling a terra-cotta pot inside of a slightly larger pot, and filling the space between them with wet sand, you can effectively create a DIY, no electricity refrigerator. The wet sand has a cooling effect on the inner pot, studies have shown the space inside the smaller pot to maintain around 40 degrees fahrenheit.

#7)Drying food- Using a food dehydrator will extend the life of many different forms of food, including meats. (Jerky anyone?) You can also use them to dry fruits, and even make your own versions of fruit roll-ups. (Minus all the gross unpronounceable chemicals) You could buy a food dehydrator at the store or make your own.

#8)Going with the flow. Eat sensibly, seasonably. Eat local food that is in season in its natural time. In this way, when you’re hungry, just pick it and eat it. (Being from the cold north, I know that’s sometimes easier said than done, but it’s not entirely impossible, especially if you’re equipped with some of the awesome methods of food preservation listed above.)

Check out this awesome guide about sustainable seasonal food!

Let us know in the comments below what you think and other awesome tips for preserving food and living more conscious.

Officials Declare ‘Eating Healthy’ A Mental Disorder

Healthy-eating_diet_735_350

Could we all really be mentally ill?

In an attempt to curb the mass rush for food change and reform, psychiatry has green lighted a public relations push to spread awareness about their new buzzword “orthorexia nervosa,” defined as “a pathological obsession for biologically pure and healthy nutrition.” In other words, experts are moving toward saying that our demand for nutrient-dense, healthful food is a mental disorder that must be treated.

CNN, Fast Company, Popular Science, and other top outlets have all began to trumpet the talking points on cue relatively recently:

“Orthorexia nervosa is a label designated to those who are concerned about eating healthy. Characterized by disordered eating fueled by a desire for “clean” or “healthy” foods, those diagnosed with the condition are overly pre-occupied with the nutritional makeup of what they eat”.

In short, if you turn your back on low quality, corporate food containing known cancer causing toxic additives and a rich history of dishonesty rooted in a continuous “profits over people” modus operandi, then you may suffer from a mental illness. The cherry on top is that if you have the pseudo-science labeled disorder of orthorexia nervosa, you will be prescribed known toxic, pharmaceutical drugs from some of the same conglomerate corporations that you are trying to avoid by eating healthy in the first place.

Orthorexia has not yet found its way into the latest edition of the psychiatric bible, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), yet is commonly being lumped in with other eating disorders. Stepping back and looking at the ones pushing this label on us shows highly questionable motives.

Psychiatry as a whole is deeply in bed with a pharmaceutical industry that makes the drugs to “treat” every one of these “disorders.” It is often these companies that are wielding influence behind the scenes to invent more mental health categories with their toxic products as theanswer. This latest media push to popularize orthorexia as a mental disorder with a goal to marginalize or derail the food revolution appears to have been dead on arrival.

The psychiatric community has even deemed creativity to be a mental illness.

As the people continue to walk away from the broken medical and agricultural/food systems like any abusive relationship, the food makers are willing to do anything to maintain their waning control. Organic and non-GMO food markets have exploded in the last 5 years, so much so that any corporation wishing to not follow the trend risks financial hardship or ruin. In addition, pharmaceutical companies are feeling the strain as less people want their toxic medications and crippling side effects.

Perhaps some individuals do take it too far to the point of self-harm, but the problem we face with a toxic food system is a much larger threat. In closing, let’s be aware of some of the overall BS fed to us by the pharmaceutical bankrolled industry of psychiatry. When healthy eating and creativity are mental issues, something is amiss.

Home Remedies for Sagging Skin

Time and tide wait for none and so do the aging signs. Due to aging, the elastin and collagen structure of the skin loses elasticity and the skin loses some of its self-moisturizing components making it appeared loose and saggy. Plus, age can make the facial muscles weak, which also contributes to saggy skin.

In addition to aging, skin can lose its elasticity because of excessive exposure to harmful sun rays, excessive smoking, regular intake of alcoholic beverages, obesity, pregnancy, rapid weight loss, a poor diet, use of wrong skin care products, dehydration and use of harsh chemicals on the skin.

Along with sagging skin, you may also notice an increase in wrinkles and fine lines, especially on your face. Skin may also look paler and more translucent, and it may become more sensitive.

There are some natural home remedies that can help tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, arms and breasts.

Here are the top 10 home remedies for sagging skin.

1. Egg White

Egg whites are a natural astringent and hence work as a good remedy for sagging skin. Its skin-nourishing ingredient hydro lipids help lift loose skin.
Whisk one to two egg whites until you get a foamy texture. Apply it to the face and neck. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.
Another options is to add one tablespoon of plain yogurt to one egg white and whisk it. Apply the mixture to your face and neck and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing it off.

You can use either of these remedies twice a week to enjoy firm, radiant skin.

2. Lemon

The vitamin C in lemon helps boost collagen production. This in turn helps restore elasticity to your skin. Plus, lemon has astringent properties that help tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles and other signs of premature aging.
Extract some fresh lemon juice and rub it gently on your face and neck. Leave it on for five to10 minutes and then rinse your face with water. Do this two or three times a day and follow up with a good-quality moisturizer.
You can also add the juice of half a lemon to a cup of cold water. Splash this mixture on your freshly washed face. Allow the lemon water to air dry on your face. Follow this remedy once or twice daily for best results.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is best when it comes to firming and tightening loose skin. The malic acid in aloe vera gel helps improve the elasticity of your skin and get rid of sagging skin. Plus, it is a natural moisturizer for your skin.
Extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf and smear it on your face and neck. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy several times a week.
Another option is to mix together one tablespoon of aloe vera gel and one teaspoon each of mayonnaise and honey. Apply this on your face and neck and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and then splash some cold water. Do this once a week.

4. Cucumber

To tighten loose and saggy skin, you can also use cucumber. It is one of the best natural skin toners and has a refreshing and rejuvenating effect on skin.
Grind half a cucumber and squeeze it through a strainer to extract its juice. Apply this juice on your face and leave it on until it dries. Rinse it off with cool water. Follow this remedy once daily.
You can also combine one tablespoon each of grated cucumber and plain yogurt. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Repeat several times a week.
You can also make a face mask with two tablespoons of fresh cucumber juice, one egg white and three to five drops of vitamin E oil. Apply this mask on your face and neck, leave it on for15 minutes and then wash it off with cool water. Use this mask once a week.

5. Oil Massage

Massaging your face and neck with a natural oil like olive oil helps tighten loose skin to keep it firm and smooth. Olive oil has antioxidants like vitamins A and E that render anti-aging benefits. It will also help keep your skin well moisturized.
Slightly warm some extra-virgin olive oil in the microwave.
Apply this oil on your face.
Massage gently with your fingertips in circular motions for 10 minutes.
Follow this remedy once daily before going to bed.

You can also use avocado, coconut, grapeseed, jojoba or almond oil to massage your face, neck, arms and legs.

6. Honey

Honey has natural hydrating, antioxidant and anti aging properties that are helpful for treating sagging skin.
Mix two to three teaspoons of honey and a few drops each of lemon juice and olive oil. Apply it on your face and neck, let it dry and then rinse it off with warm water. Do this once or twice daily for best results.
You can also mix together one-half tablespoon each of honey and sour cream. Then mix in one-half teaspoon of turmeric powder. Apply the mixture on your face for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and then splash some cold water. Use this face mask once a week.

7. Rose Water

Rose water is a natural astringent, thus it is a great toner and helps tighten loose skin. Plus, it is excellent for maintaining clear and glowing skin.
Apply some rose water on your face and neck before going to bed. This will help tighten the pores and prevent premature aging signs.
Another option is to mix one teaspoon each of lemon juice and witch hazel and five drops of almond oil in one cup of rose water. Apply it to your face and neck, leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Follow this remedy several times a week.

8. Cinnamon

Another good remedy for sagging skin is cinnamon. It helps accelerate collagen production, which is essential for firm, tight skin.
Mix one teaspoon each of cinnamon powder and turmeric powder with enough olive oil to make a paste. Then mix in one-half teaspoon of sugar or salt.
Gently scrub your face and neck area with this paste for a few minutes.
Wash your face with lukewarm water.
Use this natural scrub once or twice a week.

9. Fuller’s Earth

Fuller’s earth, also known as multani mitti, stimulates blood circulation and improves skin elasticity.
Mix one tablespoon of fuller’s earth powder with enough water (or rose water) to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the face and neck and allow it to dry. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.
You can also mix one tablespoon each of fuller’s earth, glycerin and honey. Then mix in one beaten egg white. Apply this paste on your face and neck and allow it to dry naturally. Wash it off with lukewarm water.

Follow either of these remedies once a week to enjoy firm and youthful skin.

10. Strawberry

Strawberries work like astringents on the skin, and hence are a very good remedy for sagging skin. They have vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that boosts production of collagen fibers that help keep skin smooth and firm. Plus, the alpha hydroxyl acids in them help improve the appearance of aging skin.
Mash two to three ripe strawberries and mix them with two teaspoons each of yogurt and honey.
Apply the paste on your face and neck.
Leave it on for about five minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Follow this remedy once daily for several weeks.

Also include strawberries in your diet to get results faster.

To tighten your skin, perform facial muscle exercises twice daily.
Exercise regularly for a well-toned look.

New Research Says Cats Can See Things That Are Invisible To Us

New scientific data shows that cats, long a symbol of mysticism, are able to see things that are invisible to us. Cats apparently see psychedelic stripes on flowers and patterns on the wings of birds that are completely invisible to the human eye. According to this study, cats, dogs, and some other animals are able to see types of light, like UV light, that we don’t see at all.

“There are plenty of things that reflect UV radiation, which some sensitive animals are able to see, while we are not,” said Ronald Douglas, professor of biology of the City University of London and co-author of the study. “For example, these may be certain patterns on flowers that show where the nectar is, or traces of urine of an animal. Also, reindeer can and see polar bears as the snow reflects UV radiation, while white fur does not.”

This enables animals like cats and dogs to detect animals with white fur on snow, whereas we might only see the white of the snow. Douglas argues that cats, dogs, rodents, bats, weasels, and okapis are able to detect significant amounts of ultraviolet radiation.

“For decades, we have known that many invertebrates such as bees see ultraviolet light,” continued Douglas, saying that even birds, fish and some reptiles were recently added to the same list.

“However, scientists believed that most mammals cannot see ultraviolet light because they have no visual pigment with maximum sensitivity to ultraviolet light, but instead have lenses like those of humans, preventing ultraviolet light from penetrating into the retina,” he said.

All of this explains why cats can become so enamored with ordinary objects like pieces of paper.

“We all know that ultraviolet radiation can be harmful,” said Jeffery in Discovery News.“I work a lot in the Arctic, where the UV radiation levels are too high as there is much snow and ice. The surfaces reflect 90% of UV radiation, with the result that animals are exposed to it. If you do not wear goggles, your eyes will hurt within the first 15 minutes.”

Scientists think that it is possible that cats, deer and some other animals that can detect UV rays have a protective mechanism. Scientists also believe that UV light tends to create more blur.

“Humans are good at one thing: they can see more details,” added Douglas and concluded: “Maybe that’s why we have a lens that ‘blocks’ ultraviolet light. If you do not have it, the world might appear more blurred.”

This Entire Town Is For Sale But Nobody Wants It. You Are Going To Cringe When You Find Out Why

If you are in the market to buy a village, this will be right up your alley. This 62 acre historic villagewent up for auction and guess what? Nobody wanted it! Nope, not a one. It has in fact had three different owners. So right about now you may be asking yourself….what is wrong with it? I asked the same thing.

Looking through the pictures nothing seems out of order. It does have some chipped paint and a little wear and tear. Considering its rich history, it looks quite good.

This town was booming. In 1862, Emory Johnson built the Triton Mill at the northern end of the village.

Then in 1965, a gentlemen by the name of Raymond Schmitt, the owner of an aerospaceequipment manufacturer, bought the Neptune Mill from the Johnson family. He put a lot into the town. He even purchased vintage buildings from other places and had them moved to Johnsonville, like the church pictured above.

They hosted weddings and other events in the chapel. Are you still wondering why nobody wants this town? Schmitt also brought a steamboat to Johnsonville in 1966. It sat in the pond for more than 30 years. In 1994, Schmitt had a disagreement with local zoning officials and decided to shut down the attraction. He put the property up for sale.

In 1998, Schmitt passed away. The estate sold off antiques and pieces of the property to pay debtors.

Some say that Schmitt haunts the village. That you can catch a glimpse of his shadow in the windows.

There it is! Do you see it? Nope, me neither.

A hotel developer ended up purchasing the village in 2001. They had plans to use it for an upscale mixed-use development that had single family homes and townhouses. The plans however never came to fruition.

In October 2014, the place went up for auction and was sold for $1.9 million USD. Do you think that it is any coincidence that they decided to put the ghost town for sale in October? Maybe playing off the whole ghost town thing? I think so. And I like it! I guess somebody wanted it after all.
