Signs Your Body Is Too Acidic And 9 Ways To Quickly Alkalize It

A variety of physical problems and diseases are caused by acidity. The vast majority of the populace in industrialized nations suffers from problems caused by acidification, because both diet and modern lifestyle promote acidification of the body’s internal environment.

Acidic bodies are unhealthy bodies. When the body is acidic, it creates an unwanted environment where illness, bacteria, and yeast thrive. When the body is overly acidic, the body takes minerals from vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and remove it from the body.

Because of this, the body’s mineral reserves such as calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium can run dangerously low and cause damage that can go undetected for years, until it reaches unhealthy levels, causing acidosis.

Most of us are already consuming enough acid forming foods, such as dairy, grains, meats and sugar. Since the body is constantly generating acidic waste products from the metabolism, those waste products need to be neutralized or excreted in some way. In order to neutralize the constant acid generation, we need to supply the body with more alkaline foods.

Consider The Health Problems Caused By Mild Acidosis (Poor pH Balance):

Inflamed sensitive gums, cavities

Immune deficiency

Sciatica, lumbago, stiff neck

Respiratory problems, shortness of breath, coughing

Yeast fungal overgrowth

Low energy and chronic fatigue

Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and reduction in oxygen

Heart problems, arrhythmias, increased heart rate

Weight gain, obesity and diabetes

ladder and kidney infections

Accelerated free radical damage

Premature aging

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

Osteoporosis, weak brittle bones, hip fractures, bone spurs

Headaches, confusion, sleepiness

Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup

Allergies, acne

Doesn’t The Body Adjust pH On Its Own?

Yes it can, but it does so at a price. The normal pH for all tissues and fluids in the body, except the stomach is alkaline. With the exception of blood, all of the body systems have a wide pH range, in part so they can shift to maintain the blood pH, which must be maintained at the very narrow margin of 7.35 to 7.45.

For example, if the system becomes too acidic, the blood will take alkaline forming elements from the digestive enzyme system of the small intestine. This now creates a less than optimal environment for proper digestion. So while the body can adjust pH on its own, it does so at a price to other systems in the body, which can lead to additional health problems.

Start By Knowing Your pH

pH testing is important because it allows an individual to get a numeric representation of the current level of acidification in their body. A healthy average pH reading will range anywhere from 6.75 to 7.25. The optimal pH numeric reading is 7.36. To learn more about ph testing check references at end of article.

You Can’t Tell If Food Is Acidic Or Alkaline By taste Alone

For example, many people think of lemons as acidic, while it is classified as an acidic fruit, it is actually an alkaline forming food. During the process of digestion the acids are oxidized into carbon dioxide and water, therefore they do not create an acid condition in the system.

Calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and sodium are the main alkalizing minerals. Foods that are high in this minerals are considered alkaline forming food. Most foods have both acid and alkaline minerals in them. If acidic minerals are greater in concentration than that food is considered acidic and vice versa.

The Body Has Limits

The body has limits for how much it can compensate for acid imbalance. Therefore food intake plays a critical role in maintaining the acid-alkaline balance. Many diseases and general malaise are the result of the body’s attempt to rebalance the internal environment.

Generally speaking, if the diet includes too many acid forming foods, such as high amounts of meats, grains, dairy, sugars, the body becomes more acidic. If you eat too many alkaline producing foods such as greens, fruits, sea vegetables the body can become too alkaline. Balance is key.

How Does Your Body Respond To Specific Foods?

It’s important to realize that the way your body responds to various foods depends on your dominant constitutional type. If your dominant type is oxidative then fruits and vegetables move the body to the more acid side, while proteins make your body more alkaline. If however you are more dominant to the autonomic system (ANS) then proteins cause your body to become more acidic and fruits and vegetables shift the body to a more alkaline environment.

How To Improve Your Alkalinity

Check your pH regular

Drink plenty of water (alkaline water when possible)

Remove acidic foods

Replace a traditional lunch with a large green salad.

Use lettuce leaves and collard greens as wraps.

Try not to consume processed foods Eliminate soda, sugars and coffee. Replace them with herbal tea, herbal coffee and green drinks

Replace dairy milks with coconut or almond milk

Add green juices or smoothies to your diet

What You Eat Matters

Improving pH levels may require a little more thought, but you’ll appreciate the rewards of your efforts as you begin to feel more energetic and vibrant and your overall health improves.

There is no question about it, what you eat has a direct impact on your overall health. It was Ann Wigmore, founder of the renowned Hippocrates Health Institute who said, “The food you eat can be either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”

Disturbing Pictures Expose The Absurdities of Modern Culture

Pictures like the ones you are about to see have been surfacing more and more lately, as artists around the world feel compelled to respond to some of the ugliness they see in the world.

While it may be true that artists who truly have the courage to share their thoughts on important social issues are rare, it’s great to see their emergence becoming more frequent. Even in the music industry there has been a rise of artists who have something to say and want it to be heard by the masses. While the majority of artists are not in this space and artists who do speak out are met with resistance, it’s inspiring nonetheless when it does happen.

Last year we shared some similar images and they were seen by millions, as people clearly resonated with them deeply. Some of the images below are done by artist Luis Quiles and others by Steve Cutts.

The art below draws on a wide range of controversial issues ranging from objectification of women, war and power, social media, political abuse of resources, public perception, religion, and more.

These images may strike an unpleasant chord with some of you, but that’s okay. These are aspects of our world that we need to address. My recommendation when viewing this art is to take your time and be open, as it is of course open to interpretation. Please remember that art is open to subjective interpretation and reflects only one person’s view of the world. Feel free to share your take on the illustrations in the comment section below!

Viewer discretion is advised.

Ancient Race Of White Giants Described By Native American Legends

Several Native American tribes, all separated by some distance, have a similar legend: that a race of white giants once walked the Earth but were eventually wiped out. These are the legends.

Comanches.

Chief Rolling Thunder of the Comanches, a Great Plains tribe, once gave the following account of a race of white giants in 1857:

“Innumerable moons ago, a race of white men, 10 feet high, and far more rich and powerful than any white people now living, here inhabited a large range of country, extending from the rising to the setting sun. Their fortifications crowned the summits of the mountains, protecting their populous cities situated in the intervening valleys.

“They excelled every other nation which was flourished, either before or since, in all manner of cunning handicraft—were brave and warlike—ruling over the land they had wrested from its ancient possessors with a high and haughty hand. Compared with them the palefaces of the present day were pygmies, in both art and arms.”

Rolling Thunder stated that the Great Spirit wiped out the white giants when they forgot justice and mercy and became too proud.

Navajo.

The Navajo also spoke of a race of white giants, called the Starnake people. Their legend describes them as a “regal race of white giants endowed with mining technology who dominated the West, enslaved lesser tribes, and had strongholds all through the Americas. They were either extinguished or ‘went back to the heavens.'”

Choctaw.

The Choctaw tribe told of a race of giants that once inhabited what is now Tennessee. Their ancestors fought against them when they arrived in Mississippi during their westward migration. Their tradition talks of the Nahullo, their name for the giant race, and their wonderful stature.

Manta.

According to the Manta people of Peru, there were once giants that lived among them. According to their legend: “There arrived on the coast, in boats made of reeds, as big as large ships, a party of men of such size that, from the knee downwards, their height was as great as the entire height of an ordinary man, though he might be of good stature. Their limbs were all in proportion to the deformed size of their bodies, and it was a monstrous thing to see their heads, with hair reaching to the shoulders. Their eyes were as large as small plates.” The natives believe that heaven wiped them out due to their sexual habits, which the natives found revolting.

Paiutes.

The Paiutes have an oral legend of red-haired, white cannibals that stood about 10 feet tall and lived near Lovelock Cave, Nevada. It’s hard to know for sure if this oral tradition is true or if the truth has been distorted over time and these were just normal sized cannibals that lived near Lovelock Cave. Some similar Piutes legends feature the same story just without the giants. Archaeologists have found remains of people with red hair in the area, but black hair can turn red with time.

Switzerland: Poised For a Revolution?

When Iceland jailed its bankers something changed. The unthinkable had happened: the real criminals had been held to account. Now Switzerland is also threatening to go off the fiat-bankster reservation. But will it happen?

Josiah Stamp once said: “If you want to continue to be slaves of the banks and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let bankers continue to create money and control credit.”

Stamp knew whereof he spoke. Among his achievements, he was appointed a director of the Bank of England in 1928.

All so-called modern, civilized countries are under the boot of the very mechanism Stamp described. Very few countries managed to achieve highly developed societies without it, such as Libya, Iraq and Syria.

Those countries all have something else in common. Whatever can it be?

However, other countries which have yet to become targets for unprovoked genocide at the hands of US agencies are waking up and smelling the pinstriped tyranny.

Switzerland, for example: hardly a place traditionally associated with wild-eyed fanaticism, Switzerland is set to vote on banning banks from creating money.

The English play football, drink beer and beat each other up in town centers in the evenings. The French pout and shrug and make simple things take a long time and cost a lot. The Swiss provide money a safe, boring place where nothing dramatic will happen to it, so that it may then be passed on to the next generation of rich people – preferably in an amount greater than was received – by this generation of rich people.

So money is at the heart of what Switzerland does.

Switzerland is also home to the Bank of International Settlements, which – while it sounds as exciting as double-entry bookkeeping – is, in fact, the spider at the center of the entire financial web.

In an article entitled “Switzerland to vote on banning banks from creating money” the Telegraph reports: “Switzerland will hold a referendum to decide whether to ban commercial banks from creating money.

The Swiss federal government confirmed on Thursday that it would hold a plebiscite, after more than 110,000 people signed a petition calling for the central bank to be given sole power to create money in the financial system.

The campaign – led by the Swiss Sovereign Money movement and known as the Vollgeld initiative – is designed to limit financial speculation by requiring private banks to hold 100pc reserves against their deposits.”

This sounds incredibly dull, doesn’t it? But the idea behind it is what revolutions are made of.

German bond yields hit record lows on Friday while fears about Greek banks sent the country's borrowing costs spiralling - signs of the fallout from the Swiss National Bank's shock decision to scrap its currency cap. REUTERS/Thomas Hodel (SWITZERLAND - Tags: BUSINESS POLITICS TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY) - RTR4LQZ1
The article continues: “Banks won’t be able to create money for themselves any more, they’ll only be able to lend money that they have from savers or other banks, said the campaign group.”

I’ll repeat that bit: they’ll only be able to lend money that they have from savers or other banks.

That’s probably what you think banks do: lend money they acquire from savers or other banks.

But no! They are busy creating money (albeit by a circuitous route); that is, they are busy magicking that thing the rest of us spend our lives working so hard to obtain – money – into existence. They do it by means of the creation of an imaginary thing called debt. We then undertake to pay these fictional notions back, and do so with interest.

Not only is this outright fraud and theft against the poor sap who signed the original credit agreement, it also debases the value of every single unit of the currency in which the transaction takes place.

Put in business terms, it is equivalent to printing more shares.

Every time a company’s board elects to do that, the value of existing shares is diluted unless there is an equivalent increase in the value of the company which, in the case of the kind of debt banks create – being both usurious and fiat in nature – there isn’t.

The article continues: “The SNB (Swiss National Bank) was established in 1891, with exclusive power to mint coins and issue Swiss banknotes.

However, over 90 percent of money in circulation in Switzerland now exists in the form of “electronic” cash created by private banks, rather than the central bank.

‘Due to the emergence of electronic payment transactions, banks have regained the opportunity to create their own money,’ said the Swiss Sovereign Money campaign.

‘The decision taken by the people in 1891 has fallen into oblivion.’

That is correct: if we had access to the same computer terminals the banks have, we could magic in or out of existence all the imaginary stuff we are trained to think of as important – money – in whatever quantities we liked.

This is how it works: when they print quite a lot of this stuff there is a boom. When they print too much of it, there is inflation (actually, the printing of money is inflation). When they stop printing it or simply hold on to it, there is a depression.

As long as the people keep slaving away and let the bankers give them pieces of paper or blips on a computer screen in exchange for their blood, sweat and tears, everything is fine.

But if a nation begins to wake up to the con and starts pushing back it is visited by a color revolution, cultural invasion, or simply bombed back into the Stone Age.

That’s it. You now understand economics.

We are trained from birth to think we need the banks and their paper fictions because the same people who own the banks also direct our centralized systems of education, as well as own media and entertainment.

But we don’t need them. Anything can be used as a medium of exchange. Britain became a world power based on an economy in which taxes were paid using bits of wood.

At the macro-level, the US currency is essentially worthless; once oil is traded widely in any currency other than dollars, the US economy will collapse since there will be no reason for the rest of the world to buy its dollars.

At the micro-level, a ground-shift is occurring as more people understand that real friends with a functioning vegetable garden are worth more than a suitcase full of fictional money, or a job you hate that you could lose at any moment. Barter is now booming in Greece – a country sucked into financial oblivion by the money men at Goldman Sachs.

Now back to the prospective plebiscite in Switzerland.

I am skeptical that this duck will get airborne without being shot down. The democracy the Swiss think they have is a pleasant enough fiction, but I am sure it will never be allowed to interfere with business.

And if we read the article carefully, it does say that the central bank should be given sole right to create money. This would essentially leave the creation of money in the same hands as those who control the Federal Reserve or the Bank of England rather than allow them to farm out the process. But at least it shows that people are beginning to wake up to where the true power lies.

In the unlikely event that this grass-roots movement in Switzerland should get its way and its proposed legislation be enacted, and then begin to morph into something which really does threaten the banking elite, we must not be surprised if Switzerland is shortly discovered to be harboring weapons of mass destruction, or to have masterminded 9/11, or to be financing Islamic State.

Yes, we will need to brace ourselves to be educated by a Western media unanimous in pointing out the connections to be made between the production of precision watches, pavements so clean you can eat your lunch off them, and the evil of an irrational hatred of freedom – one with roots in a culture which tacitly supports jihad against all non-eaters of expensive confectionary.

Freedom. You’ve got to love it!

Hot Tea Freezing In Mid-Air Captured In Stunning Photograph

The image of Markus Siivola was taken by photographer Michael Davies, who gave BuzzFeed some background on the location and what went into capturing the amazing shot.

It’s pretty cold in the north of Canada at any time of year, but in the winter, temperatures plummet to incredible lows. Ontario-based photographer Michael Davies and his friend Markus stood at the top of a mountain and demonstrated this by throwing leftover tea into the air, dramatically photographing it instantaneously freezing.

This mountaintop was just 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) south of the Arctic Circle, and fairly close to Pangnirtung, the fly-in community where Davies has worked as a photographer for the last decade. With weather around -35°C (-31°F), the tea – kept hot within the thermos flask – froze before it had even begun to fall to the snowy ground.

The winter months in Pangnirtung are as frigid as they are dark. “Between sunrise and sunset we only have 2.5 hours of light,” he explained to IFLScience. In order to get this incredible shot, some natural light was required; he drove on a skidoo to a nearby mountain where the light, which is almost always pink near the winter solstice, would hit the ground.

Nothing was left to chance. “I followed the temperature, I watched for calm wind, planned the shot and set it up,” Davies told IFLScience. “Even the sun in the middle of the spray was something I was hoping for, even though it’s impossible to control.”

The results were these one-of-kind images that can only happen at a handful of places on Earth.

Putin The ‘Gunslinger’: Russian President’s Distinct Walk Is Due To His KGB Training

Vladimir Putin’s famous gunslinger walk, with his left arm moving further than his right, is indicative of the time he spent as a KGB official. Reuters

Vladimir Putin tends to project a strong image: Whether he’s riding a horse bare-chested, swimming every day, or walking with a powerful, confident gait, the 63-year-old exhibits the epitome of an iron-willed Russian leader.

Now, researchers have dug up some interesting facts about his famous “gunslinger” walk, in which he swings his left arm and leaves his right arm at his side when he walks. The unique gait is a characteristic Putin developed from weapons training in the KGB, according to the newstudy published in BMJ.

“We were struck to find several consecutive YouTube recordings of Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, manifesting a clearly reduced right-sided arm swing,” the authors write in the introduction. “Putin’s distinctive walk has been debated previously, and different theories emerged, ranging from Erb’s palsy to intrauterine stroke.”

The researchers go on to note that most viewers would assume Putin was suffering from Parkinson’s disease — as a reduced right arm swing is a major symptom of the disease. But it turns out that Putin has no significant health problems, especially not Parkinson’s. In fact, the researchers surmised that the president has “excellent motor skills,” with no shaky handwriting or difficulty in lifting weights. The man is an intense workout machine, after all. What else could explain that left arm-swing, reduced right arm-swing walk?

It turns out, that walk is likely the result of Putin’s background in military training. “[T]rainees undergoing KGB training are taught to keep their right hand close to the chest even while walking, allowing them to quickly draw a gun when faced with a foe,” the researchers explained. “To support this case, it is essential to link the Russian officials to KGB membership, or at least to other forms of weaponry training.”

Indeed, Putin isn’t the only Russian official to manifest the gunslinger gait. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, former ministers of defense Anatoly Serdyukov and Sergei Ivanov, as well as military commander Anatoly Sidorov have all been observed to walk in a similar fashion. Putin and Ivanov were both KGB officials, and it appears that the others also had some weaponry and military training.

One former Russian KGB manual actually instructs trainees to carry the weapon in the right hand, with your left side creating the forward motion. “When moving, it is absolutely necessary to keep your weapon against the chest or in the right hand,” a the manual states. “Moving forward should be done with one side, usually the left, turned somewhat in the direction of movement.”

The video below shows examples of Putin’s gunslinger walk.

Captured ISIS Fighter Says ‘Trained in Turkey, ISIS Thinks It’s Safer Here Than Syria’

56809eb1c36188865b8b4600
Turkey is training Islamic State terrorists in a camp disguised as a training ground for the Free Syrian Army, a 20-year-old jihadist captured by the Kurdish YPG told Sputnik. The prisoner said Ankara’s help to the “moderate” Syrian opposition is not as innocent as portrayed.

Captured by the Kurdish People’s Protection Unit (YPG) fighters in Northern Syria in November, Abdurrahman Abdulhadi, a Syrian national-turned Daesh (Islamic State) fighter, says he was trained in Turkey before receiving his first assignment with Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

The YPG maintains external security in the three Democratic Union Party (PYD) run areas, and is fighting Islamist groups, primarily Jabhat al-Nusra and IS. The PYD, an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey, has effectively been ruling parts of Syria after government troops were forced to withdraw from the areas in 2012. With special permission from the local Kurdish authorities, Russian journalists received first-hand testimony that Turkey is “a friend” of Islamic State.

“They only appear to be enemies, however, they are friends,” the 20-year-old Abdulhadi, whose brother, Til Berak, is still fighting for IS told Sputnik Turkey. While Turkish nationals constitute only about“10 percent” of jihadists he had come across, the prisoner said Turkey is actively training Islamic State fighters.

“In August 2014, I was training in the Turkish town of Adana with one of ISIL’s Emirs,”Abdulhadi said, adding his month-long training was completed with 60 other fighters in a camp “not far from the airport.”

The captured IS soldier said military training was conducted by two officers and one of them only “spoke Turkish, so another one had to translate for him.”

“Once a week we had shooting classes where we were taught to use Kalashnikovs, machine guns and other arms,” the 20 year-old said. “We were trained in Turkey because ISIL’s command thought it was safer here than in Syria because of the bombardments there.”

While the camp was officially declared to be one of the training grounds for the Free Syrian Army, the YPG prisoner says, “all sixty of those who were there were ISIL members.”

“These were Syrian citizens, many of whom arrived in Turkey in search for a job initially, but later joined Daesh,” he explained.

After completing his training, Abdulhadi was tasked with escorting Syrians who wanted to join the jihadists.

“After I finished the training, I went to one of the districts in the Turkish town of Adana. My task was to meet the newly arrived recruits from Syria. After the training we sent them to the Turkish town of Urfa. From there the recruits were transferred via Turkey-Syria border crossing back to Syrian Raqqa. And from there further across Syria,” Abdulhadi explained, saying this was the only assignment he received from his “emir” during the deployment in Syria.

Besides helping to train recruits, the IS prisoner says he was deployed in Syria for brief periods. He was eventually captured in the village of Tal Afer on November 1.

The prisoner also revealed that IS is now receiving ammunition in trucks disguised as non-military cargo. He said that such low-level fighters as him have no idea where the arms come from.

“Weapons were brought to us in civilian cars, not in military ones because fighter jets might have bombed them. ISIL is now mostly using civilian vehicles. I’ve heard they put vegetables on top of boxes with ammunition, so that war planes do not spot them.”

What The Hell Is This Weird Object In A Frozen Lake

There’s a peculiar phenomenon occurring in the frozen lakes of the world: Strange circles are cropping up in the ice, and some believed it was the winter version of an alien-made crop circle. However, scientists have recently explained that the shapes are merely ice circles, which crop up after methane emissions create a rising mass of warm water under the surface.

A strange video is kicking up a storm online, appearing to show a bizarre dark circle in the middle of a frozen lake. The phenomenon, which occurred somewhere in Utah, appears to have large ice crystals embedded throughout.

As you might expect, numerous theories and guesses have been thrown around, including a rare fungus, fish blood, a viral marketing campaign or students making a prank video. However, one of the more credible sounding explanations suggests it could be the effect of an organism’s natural antifreeze protein. These could interfere with the crystallization of the ice, causing the formation of the odd-looking structures.

The guys in this video discovered a strange something in the middle of a frozen Utah lake. Naturally, they start poking at the object with their bare hands because no one heeds the lessons of sci-fi or horror movies.

A nearby takeaway coffee cup, which you can see in the video, is also a prime suspect.

So, what’s your theory?

Check Out The Simple Way Japanese Kids Learn Multiplication

North Americans have a standardized method for teaching math to kids and teachers have taught multiplication the same way for decades. But what if there was another way to teach multiplication that could help the kids who are having difficulty?

Japanese kids learn to multiply with a completely different method than the one kids in the US do. The Japanese math voodoo/magic is more of a visual technique where you draw lines and count the intersections.

The great thing is that you do not need to learn Japanese to master this method, all you need to do is to be able to draw and count lines and dots. You actually multiply without actually multiplying!

The Japanese method has proven very popular from the retweets and the feedback I have received from fellow practitioners. To date it has been carried out as a Maths starter to thousands and thousands of Maths learners around the world. Pupils are taught this method in Japanese primary schools at a very early age to develop the ability to multiply large numbers. There are a number of examples at the bottom of this article. Before you watch the video below you can also take a look at this learning times tables system that many parents have found useful in improving their kids times tables skills.

Now for the Japanese Method, when looking at this process it makes you ponder how we are teaching Mathematics to the kids of tomorrow in the west in comparison to the learning of Japanese students. I have had a few Japanese students confirm that this is how they learnt to multiply and have said that they found learning this method easy as all you need is the ability to draw parallel lines and count dots.

he Math Behind the Fact: The Distributivity of Multiplication

The method works because the number of parallel lines are like decimal placeholders and the number of dots at each intersection is a product of the number of lines. You are then summing up all the products that are coefficients of the same power of 10. Thus in the example shown in fig. 1:
23 x 12 = (2x10 + 3)(1×10 + 2) = 2x1x102 + [2x2x10 + 3x1x10] + 3x2 = 276
The diagrams display actually this multiplication visually. The method can be generalized to products of 3-digit numbers (or even more) using more sets of parallel lines. It can also be generalized to products of 3-numbers using cubes of lines rather than squares.

Officials Secretly Added Cancer Causing Chemicals to City’s Water Supply

In 2013 and 2014, the City of Sacramento performed a water treatment experiment at the expense of residents of the city “to save money,” according to a local news investigation.

Area residents were never informed about the toxic chemical contamination of their water that resulted from the experiment. “Cancer, miscarriages, and birth defects” are the consequences of consuming those chemicals, but the extent to which Sacramento residents are likely to experience these symptoms is not yet known.

City officials allowed the experiment to continue for an entire year —despite knowing early on that very process was creating carcinogens. For how long that contamination will be suspended in the water supply is up in the air.

Officials experimented on the water with a new added chemical to aid in removing sediment, silt, and other impurities in the water supply: aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH). It was due to replace the chemical known as ALUM that was regularly used to take the larger particles out of river water to treat it. Both chemicals weigh down the sediment to make it easily removable.

However, the addition of ACH to the city’s water supply wound up being ineffective as a treatment — so an excessive quantity of chlorine was added to the water, as well.

An astonishing failure, the combination of excess chlorine and aluminum chlorohydrate ended up yielding carcinogenic toxins known as “DBPs” — disinfection byproducts. Specifically, these are in the class of chemicals known as THMs, or Trihalomethanes.

According to Water Research, THMs are in the same chemical class as chloroform; and, although this water experiment ended about a year ago,the THMs remain in Sacramento’s water supply in levels that exceed EPA regulations. Several readings of THM levels provided to ABC10 exceeded 80 parts per billion, the EPA limit.

The ABC10 investigation says “data showing dozens of readings in excess of the EPA standard of 80 parts-per-billion during the year-long trial. In the Westlake neighborhood, near Sleep Train Arena, during a two-month period between August and October 2013, 11 of 13 readings were above EPA limits. Then in March of 2014, readings were way up across the city. Some people were drinking water with DBP levels above 130 parts-per-billion.”

Sacramento’s Utility Director, Bill Busath, told ABC10 the entire issue had to do with saving money: “There was an expectation that we would be able to save quite a bit of money.”

Bob Bowcock grew up working in the water treatment industry. His description, as reported by ABC10, is telling:

“This community was basically looked at as a laboratory guinea pig, in that they were exposed to violation level trihalomethanes for up to one year without any proper notification whatsoever […] Every corner you turn, on this particular project, it’s red flag, red flag, red flag. It’s like peeling back an onion. There is just another layer. The closer you get to the center, the stronger the smell.”

According to an ABC10 news report:

“Pregnant women and unborn babies, Bowcock said, are especially vulnerable to DBPs. In first trimester pregnancies, there’s a significant rise in miscarriages, and in third trimester there’s evidence of low birth weight,” he said, describing how the DBP-tainted water is even more dangerous when its mists are breathed in while showering or washing dishes.”

This isn’t the only water contamination that affects greater Sacramento — Northside residents need to be aware that McClellan Air Force Base is rumored to be the source of contaminated water, as a “chromium plume” of groundwater contamination radiates from out from the base.

Our water, in other words, is polluted with cancer-causing chromium-6.

According to a June article from the Sacramento Bee:

“Water from six of 11 wells in the Rio Linda-Elverta district tested above the state’s maximum contaminant levels for chromium-6 […] Wells closest to the former McClellan Air Force Base have the highest levels of hexavalent chromium, or chromium-6, a known carcinogen […] Exposure to chromium-6 can lead to skin irritation, occupational asthma, and kidney and liver damage, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.”

A woman from North Sacramento lamented: “I know [the water] gave me cancer.”

Rio Linda resident, Anna Marie Tomlinson, hasn’t touched her tap water in years — because she was the fourth person on her block to get cancer. “I drank it every day,” she said.

How do we allow officials to blindly add chemicals to our water supply? Unfortunately, most of us probably weren’t even aware the first chemical, ALUM, had been added to our drinking water — much less the insane chemical soup that resulted as a byproduct of this reckless experiment.

Mapping The Correlation Between Thoughts And The Human Body

Psychosomatic interconnectedness refers to the mind (psyche) and body (soma) acting one upon the other in a way that can either prove incredibly synergistic or highly maladaptive to the organism. In a simplistic example, if we have a physical experience in which we are very cold, then it is more difficult to focus on our own thoughts and the activities that we are engaged within. After experience such conditions over an extended period of time, if the cold is substantial, mood will undoubtedly begin to shift towards displeasure as well.

Conversely, in say the mind of a schizophrenic, if they are convinced that someone is following them, chasing them, or reading their thoughts, the body will react in a way as if it is actually occurring regardless of whether it truly is or isn’t. The “lizard brain” of the limbic system in the humans, especially in the emotional response processing center in the amygdala, will flood the perceiver’s’ body with stress hormones e.g. adrenaline, cortisol, norepinephrine all the same.

We combine this notion of a mind-body feedback loop and find the notion of self-fulfilling prophecy tucked away very neatly in this paradigm. Coined as a term by sociologist Andrew K. Merton in 1948, a self-fulfilling prophecy is a concept in which one commits a heavy amount of mental energy into believing a possible outcome will occur, and if/when it does, then uses the resulting event as proof that the one’s “prophecy” was true all along. The alternative holds true for the opposite concept of self-defeating prophecy.

When we look at both psychosomatic connections and self-fulfilling prophecies, there exists a great potential for healing to occur. In his 1990 book titled Quantum Psychology, Robert Anton Wilson details two studies conducted in 1988, both included in the Brain/Mind Bulletin, that explains as such.

The first, conducted by John Barefoot (May 1988) of Duke University studied a sample size of 500 older men and women tracked over a period of 15 years. He found that those who scored high on suspiciousness, cynicism, and hostility died sooner than all the others. This high mortality remained constant when compared by age, sex, previous health, diet, and even “bad habits” e.g. smoking. Those individuals who scored highest on hostility had a death rate more than six times higher than the others.

The second study published shortly after in August 1988 by Shelley Taylor of UCLA and Jonathan Brown of SMU found that those who scored high on “mental health” have a number of illusory beliefs. These individuals hold overly positive views of themselves, conveniently forget negative facts about themselves, hold illusory beliefs about having more control than they do have, have “unrealistic” optimism about themselves, “unrealistic” optimism about the future in general, and lastly, “abnormal” cheerfulness according to Taylor & Brown.

What these two studies show is that we have a choice between two poles. We can choose to submit to what Wilson calls, “hard realism” and be battered down by statistics, unfortunate circumstances, and foreboding probabilities thus creating self-defeating prophecies that create an even larger “reality tunnel” (a term coined by Timothy Leary) that propels us into a never ending chase after further negative “realities” in our own lives.

Conversely, we could likewise choose to begin to attend more to the positive, “illusory beliefs” about the world around us and our own physical bodies and life stories. Whether it is a belief system that promotes faith healing, miracles, crystal healings, and/or regular vitamin intake, or to merely hold a position that is extremely optimistic in its outlook, our mental disposition pertaining to our environment, reality, what is possible, and ourselves within the context of these dynamics carries significant consequences as to our own physical health.

I’m not advocating for ignorance, inaction, or disengagement from any acts of inhumanity or injustice around us in our world today. I am however advocating the opportunity to become more aware of your own perceptions, uncovering more positive truths and understandings of yourself, and to comprehend how the very nature of these truths will undoubtedly affect our health and well being.

Shy Shelter Dog FLIPS OUT After Realizing He’s Been Adopted

Since November, Benny, an 8-month-old pit bull, has been on death-row like all other unfortunate abandoned dogs at Carson Animal Care Center, a high-kill shelter in Gardena, California. For weeks nobody wanted to take this shy but sweet doggie home, until a miracle happened.

On December 10th, Benny’s life was spared. He was noticed by a sweet family who decided to adopt him. When the pooch was about to be taken out of the cage, he was so confused and happy, he could barely stay still.

Sadly, way too many kind-hearted dogs spend their last days behind bars and end up being euthanised instead of finding a loving home. Visit this site to know more about how you can help them.

Watch the video below for Benny’s heart-melting reaction.

State of Emergency Declared in Michigan City After Lead Found in Children’s Blood

Flint, Michigan– “The City of Flint has experienced a Manmade disaster,” said the city’s mayor Monday evening, as she declared a state of emergency over evidently staggering levels of lead in the city’s tap water. Mayor Karen M. Weaver has requested federal assistance to deal with the fallout from over a year’s worth of tainted water delivered to Flint residents and, allegedly, falsely declared safe by government officials.

In September, news broke that lead contamination was on the rise in Flint. Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha of the Hurley Medical Center concluded that since the water supply switched from the Detroit system to Flint River in April 2014, the number of infants and children with elevated levels of lead in their blood had doubled, from 2.1% to 4%. While the rise seems small, it is statistically significant. Even so, Attisha warned: “My research shows that lead levels have gone up. I cannot say it’s from the water. But that’s, you know, the thing that has happened.“

The World Health Organization says“lead affects children’s brain development resulting in reduced intelligence quotient (IQ), behavioral changes such as shortening of attention span and increased antisocial behavior, and reduced educational attainment. Lead exposure also causes anemia, hypertension, renal impairment, immunotoxicity and toxicity to the reproductive organs. The neurological and behavioral effects of lead are believed to be irreversible.”

The high levels of lead have beenattributed to old pipes and plumbing, which researchers say rubs off more into Flint River water than it does other sources. Because the water itself is more corrosive than other supplies, it erodes the pipes it flows through, picking up lead along the way.

Flint River is one of the filthiest rivers in Michigan. Over the years, it has housed raw sewage, tires, old refrigerators — which residents have attempted to sift out — and lead. In spite of this, officials declared it safe to drink in April 2014, when they switched the supply to the tainted river.

The change was widely attributed to the city’s switch from Detroit’s water system to the Flint River under the leadership of the city’s previous mayor, Dayne Walling. The shift in supply was a result of failed procedures and negotiations to continue purchasing the water.

Shortly after the April switch, residents complained the water emitted a foul odor and was cloudy in appearance, but local and state officials insisted the water was safe. In spite of these assurances, in January 2015,MLive reported the State Department of Environmental Quality had “issued a notice of violation of the Safe Drinking Water Act for maximum contaminant levels for trihalomethanes — or TTHM — a group of four chemicals that are formed as a byproduct of disinfecting water.”

These chemical byproducts are linked to cancer and other diseases, and presented a separate issue from the lead.

The water was so dirty that in October 2014, General Motors announced it would no longer use treated Flint River water at its engine plant out of fears it would cause corrosion.

Amid growing concerns, parents started buying gallons of bottled water to avoid the Flint River supply. Those who couldn’t afford it, as the Washington Post noted, “drank it straight from the tap all the same, knowing that they would be paying for it later. When it came to bathing, some slowly filled bathtubs with pots of boiled water for their children.”

By October 2015, protests, petitions, and public outrage led Governor Rick Snyder to promptly switch the water supply back to the Detroit System, until Lake Huron’s Karegnondi Water Authority pipeline is ready for use. It is estimated to be operating by the end of 2016.

According to the governor’s press secretary, David Murray, an “action plan” created by Snyder amid the protests provides “free water testing, free water filters and the accelerating of corrosion controls in the drinking water system.”

Even so, concerns over lead poisoning remain at the forefront of many resident’s lives. In November, a class-action suit representing tens of thousands of residents was filed against Snyder, the city, the state, and 13 other public officials. It claims that “For more than 18 months, state and local government officials ignored irrefutable evidence that the water pumped from the Flint River exposed [residents] to extreme toxicity. The deliberately false denials about the safety of the Flint River water was as deadly as it was arrogant.” The suit claims officials deprived residents of their 14th amendment rights by deliberately providing them with water they knew to be toxic.

The plaintiffs allege their health complications include “skin lesions, hair loss, chemical-induced hypertension, vision loss and depression.” Four families are described in the complaint, two of which say they ceased using the water and still suffered medical hardship.

Murray said the governor’s office disagreed with points in the suit but declined to comment further.

As a result of the apparent health ramifications, Mayor Weaver anticipates an increased need for certain services in the years to come. In her declaration of emergency on Monday, she argued increased learning disabilities and lower IQs caused by lead will require increased special education services, among other resources. She called for a Special Meeting of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners no later than this month.

Her declaration received mixed reviews from city councilmen. Scott Kincaid praised the move for alerting federal authorities of the dire situation. Josh Freeman, however, warned residents not to expect immediate change because of the mayor’s statement. “We need to find a way to actually fix the problem,” Freeman said. “This declaration does not [fix the problem].“

Either way, one sentiment remains consistent: As the class-action suit alleges, authorities “violated the constitutional rights of Plaintiffs and Plaintiff Class members by acting in a manner that shocks the conscience and was deliberately indifferent to the those constitutional rights, as well as to the health and well-being of the Plaintiffs.

HUNDREDS OF ISIS JIHADISTS ALREADY IN EUROPE PREPARING PARIS STYLE ATTACKS

Hundreds of ISIS jihadists have already slipped into Europe and are preparing Paris-style attacks, with hundreds more on the way, according to a source that spoke to Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

“The first wave is said to already have travelled to Europe. The second wave is still with the terror group in Syria – after having received training in a militant camp between Sinjar and Mosul in Iraq. The Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) confirms to Dagbladet that they are familiar with the information,” reports Dagbladet, Norway’s second largest newspaper.

The source, whose information has previously been proven accurate, told the newspaper that 300 jihadists were trained to carry out massacres in Europe. 28 lost their lives in Syria but 272 made it into Europe and have been “instructed to lay low.”

The second wave of jihadists numbers 150, with 112 having already received training in a militant camp between Sinjar and Mosul in Iraq before traveling to ISIS’ Raqqa stronghold in Syria where they are waiting to cross into Europe.

The first wave of terrorists, who were trained in Raqqa, consists of some who have been “completely brainwashed” in preparation for martyrdom suicide attacks, while another set has been “trained to plan attacks using handguns and suicide belts.”

As we previously highlighted, numerous jihadists, including some of the terrorists involved in the Paris massacre, have already exploited the “refugee” program to sneak into Europe.

Austrian police recently arrested two men who had been hiding amongst refugees at a migrant camp in Salzburg. The men, who entered Greece on fake Syrian passports, reportedly, “travelled with members of the terror cell that carried out the 13 November attacks that killed 130 people.”

A further three individuals who posed as “refugees” were also connected to the November 13 Paris attacks, including the mastermind behind the plot, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who brazenly revealed how he exploited the migrant red carpet to plot bloodshed.

Authorities also discovered images of ISIS flags and severed heads on the cellphones of hundreds of asylum seekers crossing into Norway.

An 18-year-old asylum seeker was recently arrested in the Netherlands after he reportedly told other refugees that he fought alongside Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria.

Earlier this month, a newly uncovered ISIS manifesto bragged about how the terror organization was planning on exploiting the refugee program to infiltrate jihadists into Europe and set up radicalized Muslim ghettos in major cities.

Reporter Asks Obama Question About ISIS He Doesn’t Want To Hear

President Obama blames media coverage for the lack of confidence Americans have in his policy to contain ISIS. In an interview with National Public Radio released Monday, Obama also said that America “is not threatened” by ISIS.

“What is the public missing about your strategy?” NPR Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep asked Obama in an interview that took place before Obama jetted off to his vacation in Hawaii. “And I say that simply because, according to polls, you don’t have much approval for it.”

“Well, I think what’s fair is that, post-Paris, you had a saturation of news about the horrible attack there. And ISIL combines viciousness with very savvy media operations. And as a consequence, if you’ve been watching television for the last month, all you’ve been seeing, all you’ve been hearing about is these guys with masks or black flags who are potentially coming to get you,” Obama said.

“So I understand why people are concerned about it,” he added. “This is a serious situation. But, it’s important for people to recognize that the power, the strength of the United States and its allies, are not threatened by an organization like this.”

Commentator Stephen R. Miller poked holes in Obama’s logic on National Review Online.

“Blaming such anxiety on faulty messaging and over-saturation of terror coverage by networks might be a more plausible assessment if there hadn’t been an actual pattern of recent attacks and attempts both at home and abroad, even as the president has written ISIS off as the junior-varsity team and has focused more on the fate of the polar bear,” Miller wrote.

“The Islamic State and its ideological affiliates are trying, and sometimes succeeding, to come get us, and Americans have noticed. They have come to both Fort Hood and Garland in Texas. They have come to Chattanooga. They have come to Boston, and, of course, to San Bernardino,” he wrote.

Miller noted that the White House has said it will increase the number of media events designed to show Obama engaged with Middle Easy policy.

“He apparently believes the realm of propaganda and media are all that really matter, and thinks that if his administration controls the message, then they can contain the problem and can hold the barbarians off just long enough for him to escape his second term mostly unscathed, despite having the lowest approval ratings of his presidency on his handling of terrorism,” he wrote.

Miller disagrees
“The reason the public is concerned is because we see ISIS coming to civilian metropolitan areas, and we see a dangerously disconnected president — one who golfs and fills out NCAA brackets after beheading videos go viral, or admits he pays more attention to ESPN in the mornings than to news,” Miller wrote.

Check out the interview here. The “what is the public missing” question comes about the 3:30 mark.

In an unprecedented protest against the routine offenses against due process and bodily integrity carried out in the name of the “war on drugs,” the union representing Pittsburgh police officers has condemned workplace drug and alcohol testing as a violation of the Constitution. Their zeal for the right to privacy only applies to themselves, however, not to the public they supposedly serve.

NBC affiliate WPXI reports that the Pittsburgh Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police “has filed a civil rights grievance against the city, claiming officers have been order to undergo drug and alcohol testing that is in violation of their contract.” Union attorney Bryan Campbell describes the policy as “an illegal search and seizure.”

To which those not protected by Blue Privilege might respond: Welcome to our world, FOP.

Under the contract between the City of Pittsburgh and its paramilitary affiliate, police officers can be subjected to drug or alcohol tests only in three circumstances: When an officer displays signs of impairment on the job, fires a weapon, or is involved in a vehicle crash. The union’s complaint arises from a recent pursuit that ended in a car crash. Two officers who participated in the chase but were not directly involved in the crash were required to undergo testing.

Another blatantly obvious reason for police opposing public scrutiny of their urine is that it could reveal the usage of such things as anabolic steroids. Police officers are no stranger to ‘Vitamin S’ as many of them have not only been caught using the rage-inducing hormones, but selling them as well.

Chief Cameron McLay insists that the terms of the contract allow him to require tests of all officers involved in a pursuit, irrespective of whether they were also involved in a collision. Union attorney Campbell suggests that the city is sacrificing the rights of his clients in order to protect itself in the event of a lawsuit: “They [the officers] don’t forfeit their constitutional rights to protect the city from a civil liability.”

The union complaint may be as much a negotiating tactic as an assertion of Blue Privilege:Since April it has been involved in highly contentious contract arbitration with the Mayor over budget restrictions imposed through the city’s “Act 47 plan,” a financial restricting program for municipalities trying to stave off bankruptcy. The plan called for a pay freeze this year, followed by a one percent raise next year, and raises of two percent in 2017 and 2018. These increases – which would be eagerly and gratefully received by people in the still-struggling productive sector – are disdained by the police union as insufficient.

Police in Pittsburgh have eagerly supplemented the revenue stream through the officially sanctioned theft called “civil asset forfeiture,” seizing more than $700,000 in cash and 11 vehicles in 2013-2014 (albeit much of the haul was collected subsequent to charges that generally resulted in a plea bargain). Special interest lobbyists associated with law enforcement are voluble in opposition to a proposed state bill that would place some restrictions on the practice. During the last legislative session, anti-reform lobbyists denounced the bill – which would reinforce the constitutional principle that punishment should be imposed following an actual conviction – as a “drug dealer’s bill of rights.”

Residents of Pittsburgh who are found in possession of small amounts of marijuana can still face criminal charges that “can cost [them jobs, housing, and leave them with a criminal record,” pointed out the Post-Gazette on November 17.

Criminal defense lawyer Patrick Nightingale, executive director of the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), points out that someone found in possession of a minuscule amount of cannabis will “still have to be fingerprinted, they will still have their offense recorded in a national database. They will still have a rap sheet.”

The City Council is considering a measure that would permit the police to issue a non-traffic citation instead of a misdemeanor summons for possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana or eight grams of hashish. This would result in a city fine of $100 and seizure of the contraband – in other words, it would offer a reduction in prohibition-related penalties while preserving the drug war infrastructure. This helps explain why the proposed city ordinance is supported by the Pittsburgh Police Bureau, whose personnel are seeking to retain their special immunity against the kind of drug war-inspired infringements of personal liberty routinely inflicted by them.
