Public school teachers using “gender unicorn” to teach children that binary gender is a fictional construct… HUH?

With lots of kids still lacking basic reading and math skills, the educational establishment is apparently incorporating a gender unicorn handout into public school curriculum in some areas.
The gender unicorn is a “sexually ambiguous mythical creature,” The Daily Caller reported.
Oregonian columnist Elizabeth Hovde explains how the gender unicorn, which kind of resembles Barney, is employed in the classroom in middle school.
The unicorn invites students to consider their gender identity, gender expression, declare their sex “assigned at birth,” and choose who they’re physically and emotionally attracted to. For the kids who haven’t yet had their first kiss, or even the desire for one, this must be a confusing subject matter.
Perhaps oversimplifying, gender identity is defined as how a person feels internally, and gender expression is the outward manifestation of same.
In some areas, teachers are evidently using the gender unicorn in supplemental materials without the knowledge of school boards or parents. The Oregonian suggests that some school districts in Oregon and Washington state begin teaching about gender issues in health studies as early as kindergarten.
According to the organization that created the gender unicorn, which it says is an updated version of the gingerbread “person,” the male or female binary is “mostly a European construct.”
Trans Student Education Resources describes its mission as being “dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender nonconforming students through advocacy and empowerment,” which includes creating a “more trans-friendly education system.”
Human sexuality is obviously a very sensitive, complex issue and one that traditionally was dealt with privately. For the ordinary person and/or concerned parent who supports the concept of inclusiveness, questions include where is this all headed and whether school systems have appropriate or misplaced priorities.
Hovde’s column recommends that teachers share any such supplemental materials with parents, adding that “I want to be at least as involved in the gender-and-sexual-identity discussion with my kid as a purple unicorn.”
Earlier this month, Natural News asserted that indoctrination in schools is “sowing the seeds of confusion” in the minds of young children, and which could lead in some instances to invasive gender identity therapy.
In April, NaturalNews founder Mike Adams said, “the genetic reality that gender expression in humans is binary,” and that “You can’t believe in biological transgenderism and science at the same time.” (Related: Follow more news on rational science at Rational.news.)
Separately, writing in The Daily Signal, pediatrician Michelle Cretella insisted that transgender politics leads to child abuse in those instances when pharmaceutical drugs and surgical procedures come into play. Dr. Cretella, the president of the American College of Pediatricians, maintained among other things that most kids who experience distress over their biological sex outgrow it by late adolescence after going through puberty.
In a recent appearance with Tucker Carlson, Dr. Cretella underscored her concerns with the almost universal acceptance of a transgender ideology, asserting that gender is hardwired at birth.
We have actually called this child abuse because by feeding children and families these lies, children are having their normal psychological development interrupted. They’re being put on the puberty blockers which essentially castrates them chemically, followed by surgical mutilation later on. This is child abuse; it’s not healthcare.

Transgenders found to exhibit shockingly high rates of suicidal thoughts and attempts

No matter how aggressively the social engineers try to push the notion that altering one’s gender is completely normal, the fact will always remain that transgender individuals are in need of therapy, not adulation. And don’t take our word for it: Consider the indisputable evidence presented in a new study published in the peer-reviewed journal Transgender Health, which shows that transgender people are up to 22 times more likely to entertain the idea of, or attempt, suicide compared to people who accept their biological genders.
The paper, which is sure to ruffle some feathers, contains meta-synthesis data collected from a large cohort of transgender suicidality literature, including some 22 studies published over a span of 19 years. After evaluating this data to look for variances in rates of attempted suicide, as well as suicidal thoughts, amongst male-to-female and female-to-male transgender respondents, a team of researchers from Canada came to the conclusion that something is horribly amiss in the way transgenders think compared to others.
Based on the data, transgender people are generally very unhappy with their lives, and suffer from severe mental anguish. And while some would try to blame the misery that many transgenders suffer on social stigmas surrounding transgenderism, there is no evidence that this is actually the case. Many transgenders, it turns out, are victims of mental illness who are in desperate need of someone to come along and help them recover – not to affirm them in their disorder.
“Suicidality and other forms of mental health distress are health disparities that increasingly are being documented and studied in the academic literature as disproportionately affecting transgender people and populations,” says Robert Garofalo, M.D., M.P.H., a professor of Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Garofalo is also Editor-in-Chief of Transgender Health, and Director of the Center for Gender, Sexuality and HIV Prevention at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
“With this work, Noah Adams and colleagues advance the field by conducting a meta-analysis giving important epidemiologic data that can then be used to develop interventions designed to help transgender people who are having suicidal thoughts or are experiencing psychological distress.”

World Health Organization says transgenderism is a mental illness

It is only in recent times that transgenderism has even been considered to be something other than a serious mental illness. The World Health Organization (WHO) has long classified transgenderism as deviant in terms of its correlation to mental health. WHO’s current edition of International Classification of Diseases (I.C.D.) implicates transgenderism being a mental illness, though its 2018 iteration is slated to have this classification removed.
But simply accepting transgenderism as normal, as much as this might placate our crumbling civilization, won’t in any way help transgenders to be happier, nor will it decrease their risk of wanting to kill themselves. Mental illnesses like transgenderism need to be addressed head on in order to help mentally ill people to get back on track – they certainly don’t need to be told that all is well.
“This intensely felt sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder in two respects,” says Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, citing evidence that the vast majority of children who express transgender feelings over time “spontaneously [lose] those feelings.”
“The first is that the idea of sex misalignment is simply mistaken – it does not correspond with physical reality. The second is that it can lead to grim psychological outcomes.”

ACT CHECK: Bill Nye is a mechanical engineer, not “Climate Change” specialist

Don’t get your dinner from a gas station, don’t throw smoke bombs intended for your opponents into the wind, and don’t get your scientific information from a celebrity in a lab coat. Especially one who only has a B.S. in mechanical engineering.
(Article by Brandon Morse republished from TheBlaze.com)
These are pretty basic things people should know not to do, but the last one is something many will ignore when it comes to the case of psuedo-scientist Bill Nye.
Nye gained popularity in the 90’s when he hosted the kid’s show, Bill Nye the Science Guy. Admittedly, it was an interesting show that I tuned into often to watch when I was a kid. However, like many a Disney Channel star has done, Nye shed the shackles of a child friendly persona, and began engaging in behavior that should be too ridiculous to be consumed by the mainstream media, but is anyway.
What’s worse, is that some of this behavior is very anti-science for a guy who is oft referred to as “the science guy.”
The latest in Nye’s long line of non-scientific science came during his new Netflix series, when he had a song and dance number performed by actress Rachel Bloom. The song was called “My Sex Junk,” and it featured Bloom and some backup dancers singing and dancing about how sexuality is fluid, and transgenderism is sound science.
The clip of this performance was published to YouTube on Tuesday, and since it’s hit the web the video has gone viral, and attained a level of infamy that most of today’s more famous provocateurs would call “too much.” As of this writing, the video currently has over 100,000 views, over 11,000 “thumbs down, and only 175 “thumbs up.”
Watch the video for yourself, but be warned that it contains references to genitalia. A lot. Also, it’s really, really awkward.
I find it fascinating that Nye, the man who often complains that there are people out there ignoring “proven” science on climate, and pushes the importance of scientific discovery, is willing to completely ditch sound science and facts in the face of a political agenda.
Transgenderism, for all its promotion as today’s cause cΓ©lΓ¨bre is not real in any world but the political. Science recognizes the disorder of gender dysphoria, but beyond this disorder, there is no scenario where a woman is actually a man, though she posses two X chromosomes, ovaries, and other things specific to female biology. Likewise, a man cannot menstruate or become pregnant, or give birth.
This is obvious to anyone still in grade school, but apparently not to Nye, the actor who touts himself as a man of science. For Nye, science and politics are the same thing. He said as much when he was recently on CNN, where he got into a debate with William Happer, a physicist at Princeton University. Happer – the actual scientist – got into an argument with Nye about how there isn’t any need for the global warming alarmism, and that we should be crafting and voting on policy based off of flawed computer models.
Nye fired back by first chastising CNN for having someone like Happer on, calling him a “climate denier.” He then went into spouting disproved claims about warming oceans, and mentioned that “science is political.”
The problem with Nye’s stance is that politics has agendas contained within it. Science, at least in its true sense, does not. Science is based off of fact, trial and error, and hard evidence. Politics is based off of opinion, philosophy, and and how much money you can get for voting a certain way. If Nye is truly a man of science, he should be willing to stand back, look at the evidence in front of him, and conclude that there is not more than two genders, or that throwing people in jail for being a “climate denier” is going a little too far.
In science, more debate is good, not less. A man attempting to silence others because he doesn’t agree sounds more like something a religious fanatic would do, not a man of science.
